Where are you on the Emotional Scale?

The Emotional Guidance Scale

Contentment is not the absence of desires ambition or passion.
It simply means the acknowledgement of what has been acquired, achieved, or received.
Not whether my glass is half empty or half full, but do I have more than I need.
If we are contented, we can start moving upwards.
Joy is bound to come to us.

Boredom is sometimes described as 'the desire for desires'. When we are lonely even when we are in company.
If we are bored then there is little to look forward to, then we brood, and become pessimistic,
than all the associated negatives.
If we doubt everyone and everything if we become angry, then the spiral continues downward.
Eventually we become anxious, fearful, depressed.

All these are various states of the mind.
Most of us are trapped within our minds. That is why in India humans, are called 'Manav' or 'Manas' meaning 'the one with the mind'.

True bliss occurs when we can rise above the mind. When we are comfortable with who or what we are. When we are never lonely even when we are alone.
A state of being which can only be discovered by reflection, contemplation and finally meditation.
The realisation that we are not humans on a spiritual journey but spirits on a human journey. The human will perish but the spirit never.
So nourish the spirit not the human body.
The human mind requires insatiable nourishment.  The beauty of the spirit is that it requires  requires no nourishment, it only needs abandonment of all that is superfluous to our existence.

The important questions to ask is,
Where am I?
Where am I headed?
