The Power of the Non-Existent
Twenty four spokes unite in one hub and, on that which is non existent (the hole in the hub) depends the wheel's utility.
Clay is moulded into a vessel and, on that which is non-existent (the hollow space within) depends the vessel's utility.
Erecting walls and adding a roof we build a house and, on that which is non-existent (the empty space within) depends the house's utility.
Hence it is clear to see, that
That which exists renders the actual, but it is that which is non-existent which renders the utility.

Modern Western philosophy has evolved and taught us that our existence is made up of four elements. Air, wind, fire and water.
Ancient Eastern philosophy like in India and China have taught that, existence is actually made of five elements, the fifth element being 'space'.
This fundamental difference in approach has enabled the East to look not only outside but also within. This seemingly insignificant approach and understanding allowed the East to be the most materially, intellectually, philosophically and spiritually prosperous and wealthy region in the world for at least 2000 years.
The harmony between the seen and the unseen, between the tangible and intangible with Creation made continuous progress with sustainability possible for such individuals and societies.
When materialism is balanced with spirituality, action balanced with reflection and meditation, we discover that we are happy and at peace with ourselves and all of existence and not even know why.
