Struck by Wonder

TeghVir Singh and Neville Sukhia 'Wonder-Struck'

Almost everything and anything seems to excite infants and children. Don't know what goes on in their minds, but for certain, its filled with wonder. They live life 'Super Size'.

Then as we age, something begins to go wrong, we stop wondering. If and when that happens, living ceases, only existence remains. All we then do is cram, work, quarrel, envy, despise, pursue dogma, struggle, worry, etc. rarely exploring /wondering therefore never really living, Our soul shrivels and dies long before our bodies do.

Those who wonder live in paradise, the paradise of the mind. It takes us deep into creation be it high or deep, mighty or small, simple or complex.

Wondering is a fantastic voyage that we can embark on whenever we choose, and disembark in the blink of an eye. We can visit any place we desire, meet all sorts of people and creatures and have all sorts of relationships with them.

Wonder is everywhere, but it cannot be experienced if we are too busy, struggling excessively at academics, at work, at gratification, at relationships, and coping with all sorts of social and legal demands.

Wonder is a journey, a search within our minds initiated by something that we experience outside of ourselves. Once knowledge comes the wonder ceases. Its akin to virginity, you can experience a wonder once.
The universe however is full of wonders and one can continue to experience wonders.

Wandering helps wondering, be it physical, intellectual or spiritual.  There are many flowers and fruits and plants that the bumble bee of our being can enjoy, if only we slow down and see the gardens and the forest of creation.

If we are fortunate this wonder transcends the mind and touches the heart. A beautiful experience even when we feel sad, for we are able to reach deep within our being, where we are who we really are, lurking behind many doors  and masks. Its more like love.

To be happy one must never stop wondering. Wondering requires us to be  innocent and carefree. Only when we are open can the divine enter our being.

If we wall ourselves within our greed, our lust for flesh, power and wealth, our ego, our attachment to things and relationships it will be difficult to see wonder in anything or anyone. All we want to do is exploit them.

Wonder is like bouncing on a trampoline, we experience, we wonder, we search for answers, we find new wonders and the process goes on. Then life becomes an adventure.
__________

Unfortunately in the real world live predators, some of them want your body others your labour, some want your wealth others your sanity. So we have fears, and this nature has provided us for our self preservation.

Too much wonder can be fatal, but just the right amount can bring life to a dreary existence.
