I am not perfect

We are always trying to be something or someone, usually something alien.
It is impossible to be happy if we are trying to be something which we are not.

To be happy, the person on the exterior has to be one with the being within.
Who is the being inside? Who is this real being?
Unfortunately we rarely come to know.

Some of us live our whole life without ever knowing. If one examine closely, we observe, that we have gathered not an individual but a crowd in our minds.  The resulting cacophony arises because of facets of what we think we are, and facets of what others tell us about ourselves, and the reality of what we are rather than who we are, all so confusing and frustrating.

Then we are trying to fit ourselves into being normal.
Who is normal? Each one of us is unique, and we are anything but normal. But normal we must try to be trying to fit into so many aspects of society the numerous relationships and the countless organisations within society, tormenting ourselves and others around us.

My best friend is me, myself.
So I talk to myself which is easier when there is silence.
It is impossible to have a conversation with oneself if there is so much noise, arising out of so many concurrent conversations, all placing demands for our attention.

We need time for ourselves, but this is increasingly difficult because of the way we live, work and play.  Our family, friends, colleagues, customers, vendors, employees, neighbours, even strangers demand out time and attention. Then there are demands on our time and attention by government agencies and their countless regulations. Religious authorities and their demands.
Then we are bombarded with distractions of television , internet, computers, video games, etc.

We are so busy with all these things we have little or no time for ourselves. So much encroachment of our peace of mind that the  greatest leisure aspiration is to able to find time to be alone.

Then we are trying to find and rise to the place in society that we are taught to aspire to. So
we spend so much time with others trying to woo them and to convince them on who we are without really knowing who we really are.

If by good fortune we do land up finding time for ourselves to contemplate and meditate, it can be frightening and confusing. What we discover often is usually naughty, ugly and fills us with guilt, concern and fear. We judge ourselves, by parameters given to us by others.
If we delve deeper within, we recognise our flaws and limitations. If we go still deeper, we find that each one of us is unique, hence imperfect.

The result of all these conversations with the real self, allows us to understand who we are.
We come to terms with ourselves. and this allows us to improve what can be changed, and accept what cannot be.

We are all imperfect on the exterior, but what difference does it make?
Within, we will discover, that at the core,  we are all spiritually divine, we only have to discover and realise our divinity.
